CAPACITY OF MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT AT CONSTRUCTION SITE

 That is important to know the capacity of machine and equipment used at the construction site.The benefit is

• to calculate the price for material for price rate in tender
• to select what is the maximum and minimum capacity of machinery want to use at the site to expedite the job and to avoid accident when mistake in calculating the real weight that the machine can hoist
• to get a real machine constant for planning a job to finish it

• to know the site constraint,site access especially when rainy season whether the machine can enter or pass by the site so easy

• Roller-depend on it weight per 1 inch per linear width of roller.The roller weight from 8 ton to 14 ton that mean a minimum capacity are 8 ton and the maximum capacity are 14 ton
• Bulldozer-Bulldozer size are depend on length of the body and blade size.Example blade size 11 ft 3 inch can push the soil 7 or 8 m3 in quantity
• Excavator-Depend on the bucket capacity.Model 235 flat bucket capacity is 2.3 m3 and digging capacity are 30 or 60 bucket/hour
• Telescopic Crane-Capacity are depend on the material weight it can hoist.Example crane with 25 ton capacity can hoist maximum 20 ton with boom length 48m with 12 m radius.The capacity will reduce if the boom length are longer.
• Back hoe or JCB-Capacity are depend on the front mouted bucket when digging.Normal bucket capacity are from 0.43m3 to 0.67 m3
• Lorry-Capacity are depend on the weight of material can load on it and a cycle time in 1 hour.The cycle time are depend on the body weight,horse power,access condition and haul distance.Example lorry with capacity 225 fwhp have a capacity to carry 20or 30 m3 of material for one trip
• Water pump-Capacity are measure from the quantity of water can pump in one minute.Example centrifugal pump with 21.3 head sit on the 4.6m from water level can pump 83.3 litre/min
• Concrete pump-capacity of the concrete are depend on the quantity of concrete can pump for 1 minute.Normal capacity are 10-15 m3/hour.the strength of can pump the concreta are 300 to 1000 ft for horizontal distance and 100 ft to 300 ft for vertical distance.
• Vibrator-Capacity are depend on the vibration per minutes.Normal size are from 25 mm to 50 mm and from 10000 to 15,000 vibro/minute.
• Mockey or lift-Capacity are depend on the speed and total weight of the material can load on it.Example temporary workers lift can lift about 100 workers with 50km/hour speed
• Tower Crane-Capacity are depend on the weight they can lift with the longest boom/jib,speed and the radius for swing.Weight reduce when the radius more.Example the crane with  weight at 15 m radius are 2.5 ton compare to only 1 ton when the radius are 35.0m.
