FROM CONTAINER TO A LUXURY HOTEL

Container is a place to keep something in safe.Container is produces from steel frame and a metal sheet as a wall.There are 2 type of container.The lightweight and industrial container.There are many available size and also a custom size depending on the customer order.

The author have an experienced sitting in the lightweight 40 footer container during a lightning time.A lightweight container usually use as site temporary site office at the construction site.At one day,the author siting inside the container during the heavy rain and  lightning hit the container and from inside it can see a light flow along the metal frame of the container.No electricity at that time  and may be the container not have any lightning arrester or diverter to transfer the huge electric charge to the earth.

Nowdays the used industrial container are used as a modular unit to build a luxury hotel.The unit of container can stack to several stories because the container will stack until 7 layers when transported by ship for export and import activities.The structural engineer have to design the slab and the foundation where the container were sitting.All the structural for container have to check if the container are stack directly to the another container below.

For the stability,if want to build for more than 3 storey,the reinforced concrete frame must construct first before stacking any container.The architect element like wall,cladding can attach to the container for decoration purpose.Also all the mechanical and electrical  and water supply lines can hide inside the wall or the concrete frame.

Nowdays only single and double storey hotel are constructed in Malaysia.Also not just only hotel,the cabin(container) restaurant are constructed and popular as leisure place for eating.Also nowdays the used or new cabin (container) are design for many purpose,One is the purpose as a cold room for keeping a various of thing like fish,meat and others.

Lately in Malaysia,when the dead body increased because of the covid 19,the mobile mortuary house made from the cabin(container) will implement to reduce the over-burden to the existing one.This is the first time the mobile mortuary house will used.It can consist until 20 dead body at one time.The design are same with the cold room system.

The most important that,the lighting arrester must be install to make sure no electrical trip or burning or fire can spark from the during the lightning time.May be the cost for the new one are expensive but for the re con may be cheap and also like a new one.The strength must also to be checked before any structural used.

Compare to the lightweight container,the usage is very limited.The popular usage as a temporary site office or meeting room for the construction site.The other use is for keeping gardening equipment and for temporary shelter at farm or garden.

Also know very popular field hospital that the existing hospital not enough bed for covid patient.In Malaysia ,KKM planned to build as many as field hospital to support the health system from failed and the field hospital also can construct from the cabin or these industrial container.Like a China can construct a complete field hospital in 7 days.So ,come on all engineers in Malaysia to do more better .Thank you
