PYROLYSIS METHOD TO REDUCE MUNICIPAL WASTE

 Lastc2 days one of the towncity authority going to use a pyrolysis method to reduce an over- burden to waste management using a landfill method.The major problem of the landfill are the leachate problem from the bottom part of the area sipping into the soil and pollute the groundwater which can pollute the river which a source of raw water for drinking water.Not only the leachate problem but also the smell from the area are polluted the air near the area and very harmful with all the insects which can harmful to the community health.For the town area to find out the new area for landfill is a heavy task because all the land are expensive and also near to residence and not suitable for landfill purpose.

The second method also rejected by the community are the incinerator method.All the wastage are combusted with the heat at the present of oxygen.The residue are consists of gas,ash,liquid an heavy with toxic substance and also to set up the plant can cost about million and also the incinerator to convert to energy are not suitable for Malaysia solid waste because about 90 % of solid waste content are come from biological waste or kitchen waste.The energy produced from the plant is too low and the company who operate the plant cannot get a profit.

The new method for reduce the solid waste is pyrolysis method which same with incinerator using heat to decompose the waste without present of oxygen.The residue are also liquid,gas and solid and are can use for other purpose or recycling material.To set up the plant also no need at higher cost and because of the biological content in solid waste is very high,the decompose material can give higher product and the company who run can get a profit and to set the plant at lower cost.The residual material also not an active which content a hinger carbon but for the gases and liquids special treatment to low  the carbon content before used.

All the above method is the end treatment.The author is proposed the solid waste must be treated at the source,At the home,government and private building,at factory,at farm and at the source of the rubbish.The special machine must design to convert the solid waster after separation to biomass or recycle material as fertilizer or etc.The plastic,wood,glass and other hard material will separate and sell to the collection centre and send to the recycling plant or to pyrolysis plant.The people must educated with the self environment take care programme for combating the solid waste management problem.

The technology for diversion the solid waste to the compose material is there already like a dry or compose toilet.So the innovation to create a special machine using the same concept is now easy but all the solid waste plant have an adverse impact to the environment but with the new technology ,new method,new material,new ideas the negative impact to the environmental can be reduced.

So,let we try first the pyrolysis method which may be can solve the problem and research after operating and commissioning must be carried out to know the performance of the plant.If the plant is good for reducing the solid waste,the plant can build around the Malaysia and modification must be done if the plant is not show a good performance.Like an incinerator,now modification to the old plant were successful to reduce the impact to the environment and more eco-friendly.Thank you
